MNO Update

Posted on February 06th, 2017

On February 1, 2017, Administration presented proposed amendments for the Mature Neighbourhood Overlay (MNO) to City Council’s Urban Planning Committee (UPC). The full report and associated attachments are available here.

UPC voted to move the proposed changes forward to public hearing and added the following additional changes:

  • Revisions to the general purpose statement to address the context of surroundings.
  • Changes to tier two and three consultation to include notice for information purposes to Community Leagues.
  • A change to the projection of platform structures and single storey unenclosed front porch to a maximum of 2.5 metres from 2 metres.

Once these additional changes are drafted, they will be presented in a bylaw at a City Council Public Hearing in the second quarter of 2017 along with the other changes to the Overlay.

A delayed effectiveness date of the Bylaw will be specified when the amendments are presented at Public Hearing in the spring.
