Neighbourhoods, like any living thing, have a life cycle. We don’t often think of that when we move in. We think of whether it has schools for our kids, how far it is from work, and how close it is to the grocery store.

All that is important, but it’s only a by-product of where a neighbourhood is at in its lifecycle.

People are the lifeblood of the neighbourhood. Their choices to stay, or to leave, are what determine whether these evolving entities can survive the test of time.
